This day journey to Chaouen de Fès through the Rif mountains, you will find Chafchaouen, a mountain village in northeastern Morocco with a stunning setting that is full of charm and authenticity. The city is distinguished by its Andalusian blue architecture and is well-known for its gorgeous indigenous Rifi rugs.
Every nook and cranny of Chefchaouen’s Medina gives a breathtaking view of the city streets and neighboring mountains. Its little streets are quite lovely, vibrant, and enjoyable to wander through. Uta el-Hammam is the heart of the medina and a popular meeting spot for residents, with numerous decent cafés. In the same plaza, you’ll see the city’s grand mosque and the kasbah, which has lovely gardens.The visit to Chefchaouen should also take your time and immerse you in the way of life of its residents, which is considerably different from the frenzied pace of Morocco’s main towns. You can go down to the contemporary city to visit the weekly market (Monday or Thursday), when mountain residents dressed in traditional attire gather to sell their wares.
